Mackenzie's Yappy Hour is BACK for the summer and is now officially DOG FRIENDLY!!!

Come join us EVERY SUNDAY starting June 6th at HOP CAT from 1:00 - 4:00pm for a fun afternoon of socializing and fellowship with other dog lovers.

**Patio seating will be available for you and your four-legged friend.
**Cost: $5.00 at the door which will include a special discount of 25% off your total bill.

Yappy Hour proceeds will help Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary, the largest no-kill sanctuary in the Midwest dedicated to finding homes for abused, abandoned and neglected dogs.

Mackenzie's Mission:

  • Find loving homes for abused, abandoned and neglected dogs.
  • Spay/neuter our rescue dogs of age to stop the cycle of unwanted litters.
  • Assist in public education for the betterment of our local animal community.
  • Keep a high standard of excellence and professionalism.
  • Maintain the highest standards of care for the animals, including veterinary care, housing, love, tenderness and compassion.

Available Position(s): Kennel Attendant

Job Description

Overview: Train, clean, feed, water, interact with, walk, basic physical care, and the everyday needs of the animals at the Sanctuary. A Kennel Attendant must feel comfortable working with a range of dog behaviors from fear to shy to aggressive.

Reporting To: Kennel Attendant Manager

Daily Functions:

  • Interact daily with M.A.S. dogs through training, walks, tender- loving care, and off-site training sessions.
  • Feed and water M.A.S. dogs.
  • Reinforce the established training methods of M.A.S. Candidate would need to be comfortable with basic training and have the ability to be consistent with M.A.S. techniques.
  • Uphold a professional attitude.
  • Adhere to M.A.S. policies and procedures.
  • General cleaning and up-keep of dog runs and kennel areas, inside and outside.
  • Perform monthly physical wellness tests on dogs.
  • The ability to be a team player and work effectively with staff, volunteers, and public.
  • Respect M.A.S. dogs and treat them with utmost kindness and compassion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Physical

  • Lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Extended periods of walking, cleaning, standing, bending, etc.
  • Being outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • Fast Learner
