Celebrating November as Adopt-a-Senior-Pet Month

charlie What you see is what you get!
Adult dogs have grown into their true personalities & size.
No surprises - it's the real deal!

Some people worry that a senior pet comes with problems, but according to an adopter from Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary, Jill Griffet of Grand Rapids, MI. “I have never made a better decision!”

She adopted an older dog from the Sanctuary named Charlie, and has never regretted it. Charlie, now known as Coalby, has shown to be one smart, motivated older boy.

He has currently earned 30 different titles in agility, obedience, rally obedience, and is also a registered therapy dog.

Read more about Coalby on our adoption story forum.

During Adopt-a-Senior-Pet Month, take the opportunity to get acquainted with the older pets available at Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary by visiting our Adoptable Dogs.
