My name is Conroy, and I'm a medium sized male black lab mix. I've been at Mackenzie's since 10/9/2003. I was born on June 5, 1997 and my mom had me ever since I was 6 weeks old. Her little boy had allergies and it was getting pretty serious. I never meant to cause a problem for that little boy — I love kids of all ages and hope my new family has some for me to play with!
My mom took great care of me, even took me to the vet for surgery when I was little because I swallowed a piece of a hard rubber toy I was chewing. I'm past that stage now, but to be on the safe side, I'm not allowed to have certain toys. When I was a puppy, I was crate trained, but then I graduated to having total freedom in the house, even when no one is home. I'm very proud of that accomplishment.
I also know "sit", "stay" and "heel" even though I think I need some reminding now and then. I'm very smart, very affectionate and love to be petted and cuddled. I would do great in a home with experienced owners, and with older children due to my intense playfulness at times. If your family would like to have a fun medium sized dog to exercise, play and cuddle with, you can't do better than me!!!
