    Spencer’s 1st Week – 4-10-2009

Mom says things are going good! The last few days Spencer has started to seem even more comfortable, rolling onto his back and wiggling around a lot more, or prancing around proudly with his rawhide (mom describes it as a hilarious high-stepping prance like a horse!). <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” />

Overall Spencer is transitioning very well. At first he only had a few minor potty accidents in that first 24-48 hours, but they suspect it was nervousness from being in a new place, so that’s understandable. He hasn’t had any other accidents since! While he continues to transition into his new routine there, they’ll use baby-gates to limit which areas he has free-roam to until he’s fully trusted.

Spencer loves his fenced area… every time they go outside Spencer runs to the gate, and can’t wait to play fetch in his fenced in yard, or bury his ball in the dirt. <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” /> Also, he did great with his first visitor to the house so far – it was a woman, and Spencer did very well sniffing & greeting her politely. The only minor issue they’ve come across is that Spencer has taken to chasing the Cat a little bit, but he doesn’t ever hurt her – he acts like he just wants to play. The Cat’s not sure what to think of that! So Mom & Dad are working on doing slow introductions again. <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” />

Mom said honestly Spencer is doing really well transitioning into their routine, and they have been enjoying having him in their home!
