Hunter had been losing his balance and had been noticed staggering when he walked; this concerned us and our veterinarian. We were referred to the Neurology center of Canton Mi. We learned that Hunter has compressed disks in his neck and lower spine. We were advised that Surgery would not be an option for Hunter because too many of the disks in his neck and spine are just too compressed; surgery could do more damage then good in this case. Hunter has to be restricted with exercise and does need medication to help with any pain he might have. Otherwise he lives as happy of a life as any retired bird dog could.
