Preston came to the Sanctuary requiring immediate medical attention. Being extremely underweight and with severe hematomas in both ears, Preston went in for routine blood work and an x-ray. To everyone's disappointment, the x-ray showed a huge mass in his chest cavity. Preston was rushed to MSU for surgery, where doctors discovered a 4 pound tumor in his chest cavity; a benign Thymoma Tumor to be exact. The extremely large size of the mass was a record for MSU. Post surgery, Preston took a turn for the worse, his body stopped producing calcium and he was rushed to intensive care at MSU where he remained for 2 ½ weeks. With Preston's weight down to 57 lbs. his future looked grim. After the agonizing 2 ½ weeks, Preston's body started to accept the calcium supplements and he began to perk up and gain weight. Much to our delight, Preston now weighs 76 lbs, has had his three month check up showing no signs of re-growth, and has a clean bill of health. His calcium levels are still being monitored in hopes that he will begin producing calcium on his own. Please help support Preston's ongoing medical treatments from MSU.
