My name is Scout, and I was probably the biggest purebred Dalmatian on earth, but since coming to Mackenzie's I've been on a great diet and have slimmed down quite a bit. Hurrah! I was brought to Mackenzie’s on 4/12/2003 and my birth date is 9/1/1995. Everyone here says I look great and am such a sweet dog! I am a strong boy so I would be best with older kids, and I would prefer a home without dogs or cats. And don't even think about turning me into a water dog. I don't like to swim at all... I don't even like getting wet in the rain! That's why I'm really looking forward to being an indoor dog. My previous owner kept me outside all the time, and I didn't like that at all -- especially since they didn't give me any heartworm preventative. I was diagnosed with heartworm disease when I reached Mackenzie’s, and they took me to the doctor for treatment. Now I'm all better, and I get my monthly pill so I'll never get Heartworm again! Now that I'm older, I do have a slight heart murmur and arthritis in my back legs, but my medications are helping feel much better. I really love getting attention, going for walks, and doing training commands with my people (I love to earn tasty treats!). After a little exercise each day I would love to curl up with you and just hang out. And if you rub my ears, I'll be your friend for life!
