Volunteer
We have the answer!
Here are two flexible and easy ways to make a huge difference in continuing our mission to help more dogs in need!
Be a Meet & Greet Volunteer in East, West or Mid-Michigan areas near you! We are looking for volunteers to help spread the word at Meet & Greets, Fundraisers and Educational events. Only one training session required. Training available Tuesday through Saturday.
We could also use your help with collecting full Donation Boxes that are spread throughout area businesses in Michigan. You are able to work around your schedule to pick up boxes in your area as little or as often as your free-time allows.
Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary is always looking for volunteers. We need a lot of help! Volunteering can be very rewarding and a great way to spend time with dogs in need or educating the public about adoption, volunteer opportunities or donating to Mackenzie’s.
Volunteer Orientation
Typically scheduled twice a month on Saturdays. Email Jana Schrier at jschrier@mackpack.info or call 616-693-2916 to register or obtain more information about starting times. Click here to view our monthly calendar of events.
Time Commitment
We ask that volunteers commit to 30 hours of volunteer service after training. Time spent at the kennel facility is usually in 2 hour increments based on your availability.
Age Requirements
The minimum age to volunteer is age 8. Youths age 8 to 15 may participate in our family volunteer program working with dogs alongside a parent or legal guardian. To work independently with our dogs, volunteers must be 16 years or older.
